Above the clouds, where the sky breaks open into something iridescent and vast, a ruined castle hangs at the edge of the world. It was glorious once. It still is, in the way that dying things sometimes are. Zhemson has been its only inhabitant for a thousand years — chained, condemned, unbroken. The Watchers have tried everything. Torture. Isolation. Centuries of silence broken only by the creak of the castle and the tide of the sky.
